I don’t know about you, but for me as a blogger one of the most important things that I can have is my blog backed up..I am really paranoid, I have many blogs and I am terrified that all of my hard work on research, posting and presenting it to all of you is going to be lost due to some kind of horrible freak of nature!
Now I know that this sounds extreme but I feel very strongly about it as you can tell! For all of my friends out there that have been around JabberWocky! or any of my other blogs for a while, you know that a computer genius I am not!
I wouldn’t know how to back up my blog manually if the house was on fire! And from what I can conclude from articles that I have read it is not all that easy especially for a novice like me. In fact, I hear tell, that it can actually be quite complicated and tedious.
But approximately a year ago I came across this site called BlogBackupOnline that was in Beta at the time.
I read how it was as simple as signing up, registering the blog you want backed up and that was it! Your blogs were automatically backed up every day, and since this was all done online there was no software or programming required! Which obviously is my type of service!
Needless to say, this was like a miracle to me and for the last year I have never once worried about loosing one of my blogs. I know that I can do my research, post and present it to you and if something horrible should happen today that my blogs are safe and will still be there tomorrow.
Another great thing about this service was that it was free while they were in Beta and each account was allocated 5mb of storage space, (they researched this extensively and have found out that 5mb is quite sufficient for most blogs).
Well, I am happy to report that next week, BlogBackupOnline is moving out of Beta. They responded to feedback from the people like me that were giving it a try, they implemented improvements to the service and now it has finally paid off for them!
Good news is, since they are moving out of Beta they will continue to provide a “FREEMIUM” version so that every blogger can continue to backup their content, but now they have found that many of their customers wanted more features and full technical support.
So you talked and they listened! In addition to the “FREEMIUM” that they are offering to all bloggers, they are also going to offer a “Professional” account which will include 50mb of storage, support for backing up content linked from your blog, support for restoring your blog and e-mail support for pennies a day, if that is not enough storage for you they also are going to offer an “Enterprise” account that contains all of the support mentioned above but with 1GB of storage.
In finishing, my advice to any blogger out there is to Have Your Blog Backed Up…all of them, because you work too hard just to loose everything in a second. And if you’re going to take my advice about this, then take my advice and sign up for the “FREEMIUM” at BlogBackupOnline, it’s free, it effortless and best of all it’s safe and if you ever find that you need more support or space it’s always nice to know it’s right there at your fingertips, you don’t have to go all over the Internet looking for another place and moving everything again!
Well done BlogBackupOnline!
That’s all for me today! See you back again tomorrow for more…
