Safety 1st!
Hi All!
I hope all of you had a good week-end and that your week has started out well!
I want to mention that I am sporting the newest Word Press Theme today called Ocean Mist by Ed Merrit, thank you Ed for such a lovely and peaceful theme!
First, to begin this week, an update from last week; The Ashes of Star Treks’, James “Beam me up Scotty” Doohan, Astronaut Gordon Cooper, and 200 others, including the writer of the original “Star Trek” series, that were launched into space two weeks ago and lost Have Been Recovered!!
The metal capsules that the 202 people were sealed in will be mounted on plaques mentioning the space flight and given to the families who provided the ashes.
I don’t know about you but I am very happy to hear that this has had a positive ending!!
And now…
With summer just around the corner we should be reminding ourselves to keep our homes secure during the warmer weather. Doors and windows left open for fresh air can also be an open invitation to a burglar or worse!
Burglars will take any opportunity to gain access into a property and leaving doors and windows open is just inviting them in. It only takes them a couple of seconds to get into a house through an open window or door, take a few things and leave, all while you are out in the garden or even worse, in the next room!
While we can not be expected to keep our homes permanently locked up, especially in the summer, we we can take a bit of extra care. Many burglaries to homes happen because doors and windows have been left insecure.
If you will close any windows or external doors when you leave the room and make sure the house is fully locked up when you leave the house then a lot of burglaries and other crimes can be prevented. An extra couple of minutes care and attention to security can save you money and the safety of you and your family in the long-run.
In addition to this, many insurance companies expect people to take responsibility for their personal possessions. An unlocked door or open window could cause problems when making an insurance claim!
In the long run it always seems to be “better safe than sorry” & you should always be thinking of your Safety 1st!
That’s it for me today, hope to see you back here tomorrow for some more…
