Carrying Caskets Keeps U Limber!

Well I don’t mind telling you that I’m glad to see the week-end quickly approaching! I have decided that since the weather is going to be a little nicer here this week-end that I am going to get out and get a little, much needed, exercise! I tend to do my exercising indoors during these cold winter months, I am going to enjoy some “fresh air” I can tell you!
Speaking of exercising, do any of you remember Jack LaLanne, the 92 year old exercise Guru? He was a Guru before it was even fashionable to be a Guru!!
Well, it seems that a 91-year-old man has laid down a challenge to box a four-round bout with the fitness Guru!
The purpose is to let seniors know it’s never too late to get into great shape like the challenger, who is, by the way, former “cut man” for retired boxing champ Joey Gamache and also retired from the “funeral business”!
LaLanne hasn’t taken the 91 year old up on the challenge to enter the ring though. “That’s not quite his cup of tea”, LaLanne’s spokeswoman said.
But this 91 year old hasn’t given up on the idea yet, he plans to contact fight promoter Don King to see if he’s interested!
The 91 year old widower, spends his winters in Florida since retiring from the funeral business and he works out an hour a day while in Florida, lifting up to 200 pounds. The rest of the year, he keeps fit by riding an exercise bike and carrying caskets in his home town!!! Upon talking to the 91 year old about this he was said to have replied:
I feel it keeps me healthy and limber for my age, but it’s not always pleasant.
Well I don’t know about all of you but this puts me to SHAME!!! First of all, I am probably not going to live to see the ripe old age of 91, and if I do for some unforeseen reason, I plan on being in a wheelchair not a boxing ring!! And Exercise??? I think at 91 just waking up is going to be enough exercise for me!
I would Not even Consider climbing in the ring today, and I promise you that I am not nearly 91 years old! Lifting 200 pounds?? He could lift me, twice almost!! I can’t lift anything much heavier than a fork!! The exercise bike? Well, I must admit, I don’t do it, but that seems like a good way to keep in shape. BUT I DRAW THE LINE AT CARRYING CASKETS!! NO WAY, NO HOW, I DON’T CARE HOW LIMBER IT WOULD MAKE ME!!

Hey I get lots of exercise, I stretch and reach…I have to reach to turn on my monitor, I bend and reach…I have to bend down to turn on my computer. I walk daily…I have to get up and walk over to the fridge or coffee pot from my computer chair. Does it count if my computer is sitting next to the fridge? I don’t want to walk very far. Of course if I want I can just roll my chair around get into the fridge.
I think I get good exercise. LOL
I have to agree with you I need more exercise. What is really scary is the fact that I just took over the Boy Scout Troop in my town and now I have to go hiking and camping and that stuff with these hyper active 13 year olds. I think it is time for me to push away from the computer and go get some exercise.
Come on S.C. I’m with you let’s go and start getting some exercise.

For your information, while you were laid up in that bed of yours I was doing My Exercises!!!! I don’t have time to wait for you!!!
After that lovely letter to me this morning I thought you were going to be nice this week-end but you had to get up and start Thinking!!!! And getting ideas again, how many times have I told you not to do that, it’s dangerous!!!
I can see it’s going to be one of those week-ends again!!!!
